Ms. Torres is a result driven, highly energetic human resources professional with nearly 20 years of experience demonstrating integrating proactive human resources initiatives and leadership with business strategy to increase productivity and organizational profits while maintaining a strong emphasis on all aspects of risk management that include hostile work environments, workplace violence, labor disputes, and situations that involve the potential for violent acts such as employee discipline, demotion or termination that according to a Department of Justice has contributed to many catastrophic active / mass shooter incidents.
Laura has always been very passionate about ensuring public safety that was a contributing factor for her decision to serve as a combat medic in the Illinois National Guard where she was activated to serve on active duty during the war in Iraq where she was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant (E-5) before being honorably discharged.
Laura received her master’s degree in human resource management from Keller Graduate School, a bachelor’s in business administration from Robert Morris University, and holds her Senior Professional in Human Resource
Management Certification from HRCI.

One of Laura’s passions is volunteering to take part in events that raise funds for disabled Veterans, abused and abandoned pet animals. Laura is also a member of the violent crimes task force that provides services to victims of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence.
